In Partnership with the Lions of Florida & the Bahamas
We provide leadership and infrastructure for the screening of children (ages 1 through 6) to enhance the early detection and treatment of vision impairments.
KidSight is a FREE vision screening program administered by the Florida KidSight Foundation and Lions Club volunteers to detect vision problems that can cause Amblyopia (lazy eye) in children between the ages of 1 and 6 years old.
We love to help kids see the world better
Early Detection, Professional Referral and Assured Follow-Up are the key components that we focus on with our mission.
We have helped with 150,000+ Children screenings since 2010!
Amblyopia (lazy eye) is from the Greek words amblyos (dull) and opia (vision). Reduced vision in an eye from disuse. One in 20 children have some degree of amblyopia.
How Are You Funded?
Florida KidSight Foundation is a 501c3 Organization and is fully funded by private donations. We welcome donations as small as $1.00. Every dollar truly helps us meet our goal of screening over 25,000 children annually across the state of Florida!
Lions Club Involvement?
All vision screenings for the Florida KidSight Foundation are performed by Lions Clubs across the State of Florida using a PediaVision or SureSight photoscreening instrument. The equipment is part of a comprehensive vision care program including regular eye exams by an eye care professional.
What Should I do?
Children with Amblyopia who have not begun treatment by age 6 to 8 may develop irreversible &permanent vision loss. Please support us and if your child needs help, contact us today!
